MacOS Items Manager is a friend of Extensions Manager. It allows to enable/disable contextual menu items, Control Strip Modules and fonts, in the same way Extensions Manager does for extensions and control panels.
System Requirements
MacOS Items Manager runs on any PowerMacintosh with MacOS 8.0 or later in Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish or Swedish.
MacOS Items Manager is also available in Dutch, French, German, Italian and Japanese.
Installation
To install MacOS Items Manager, drag MacOS Items Manager control panel onto your System folder icon. Answer "OK" when asked if you want it put into the Control Panels folder. However, since MacOS Items Manager is not a real ControlPanel but an application, you do not need to restart your Macintosh to use it.
Because its use is similar to Extensions Manager, you should not need more help.
Known limitations
• MacOS Items Manager cannot manage folders other than Control Strip Modules, Contextual Menu Items and Fonts folders. Next release (MacOS IM 2.0) should.
• Mac OS Items Manager cannot preview font which was not enabled at startup.
• MacOS Items Manager doesn’t give version number for a font suitcase, until the font suitcase is scaned (see below).
• When "Show information" is enabled, the first time you select a font suitcase in the list, MacOS IM scans it: it first duplicates the font suitcase, then read the resources of this copy. That's why you may get disk activity with large suitcase.
